You are being asked to take a crucial pause.
Now is the time to throw down your anchor and commit to being here in the present. There is a kingdom waiting for you on the horizon: you can see it, but you are not quite ready to arrive at its gates. There is more work to be done before you can move on. Before you encounter the new, you must more fully and truly encounter yourself—encounter those things that might hold you back from stepping forward with both feet. You are waiting here to expand your openness and willingness to take the plunge.
This month may be full of discomfort. It’s not easy to hang out and wait, not easy to step up and encounter—confront everything you’ve been skirting away from. But you can’t run away any longer. While this anchor may feel like a bridle, you are here to break through old patterns, liberate yourself from old stories, find a new stride that plants your feet firmly on the ground. You may feel adrift, but know that crucial grounding work is taking place.
You are being asked to get clear about what you are doing, where you are going, and why. Now is the time to get clear about your patterns of movement, clear about what is yours to take with you, clear about what needs to be shed, clear about what is asking to fall away. You may buck, you may thrash, you may run yourself ragged spinning in circles; do this as often and intensely as you need, but know you will not be moving on until you get it out of your system.
You’ve passed a gate through which your ego cannot follow; you’ve arrived in front of a gate where you’ll be paused until you have learned to embrace an enlarged perspective. Humility is the key. Come into love with humility. Wherever you go, there you are, greet yourself always with loving acceptance. Be humble in the acceptance that you have no control. Be humble in the recognition that your power lies not in the ability to create but rather in your capacity to respond. Be humble in the knowledge that you are not meant to do this alone. Open to others and open to that which is larger than you. Locate your power in your ability to hold, to caretake, to abide. You can and will make it through, just know: all things happen on their own time. Everything happens as it’s meant to. Trust that you cannot miss what is meant for you. Say yes and tend to all that is around you in the here and now. Say yes to being uncomfortable. Say yes to growing beyond yourself.
This will not last forever. I promise, you’re on your way; this pause is part of the process. Remember: pausing, too, is a form of movement. The movement of this particular moment is a sacred one—honor it and you will find your way.
