Lay it to rest.

You do not need the approval of others. The time for needing to be seen and praised by others is over. We have been living in a culture that only maintains interest in appearances for too long. It’s time to release the false and empty versions of ourselves that we only keep up because they look good. It’s time to stop believing the lies and get to the root of our truth. It’s time to open our eyes the truths of others and to the realities of what has been built around us. The time for superficiality is over. Exhibitionism will not get the work done.

Do the work from your truth and let everything else fall away. We will never work effectively and achieve our fullest potential if we are constantly lost in comparing ourselves to others, if we are distracted by others and motivated by their praise. It’s time to cultivate our ability to practice non-attachment--to keep our eyes on our work. Success does not define you. Your actions define you. The appearance of success is an illusion. Remember, success is not monolithic: true success looks different for everyone. Often achievement is not in the immediate result of our actions, but in our commitment to continued action and in our commitment to always doing better, grounded in our sense of what is uniquely ours to offer. We are all here to be of service. How can you get to the root of your truth and to the core of what you have to offer? Focus your sights here. Start here. Nothing else matters but the work.
